application performance management solution integrated with Cognos
8 and ReportNet. Teleran’s solution uniquely provides auditing
and real-time performance improvement in one package. Its iSight
SQL monitor delivers comprehensive usage visibility, combining
Cognos User, application and database activities in one unified
reporting and analysis facility. Teleran’s iGuard SQL policy
manager controls and speeds Cognos queries, automatically
improving performance and scalability of Cognos BI applications.

audits and manages specific Cognos user and query activities by
capturing the unique Cognos user ID and linking that information
with the SQL generated by Cognos and its actual impact on database

Teleran’s SQL policy management facility, iGuard, acts as a
predictive database firewall by preventing inappropriate,
unauthorized or runaway Cognos queries from reaching the database
and impeding performance, reducing availability and breaching
security and compliance policies. Companies can choose from over
60 customizable Cognos query management policies to protect the
database as well as speed query performance. In addition iGuard
includes an expert system user messaging that guides users
directly in their Cognos application to more efficiently interact
with Cognos and the database.
Teleran’s suite also includes a network-based SQL auditing
system, iSight. Because iSight operates on the network, it does
not add any overhead to the database. iSight delivers visibility
and awareness of how Cognos and other BI applications are
performing with the database. It links the Cognos user ID with
specific data usage that speeds performance trouble-shooting,
reports on security and compliance policy enforcement, and guides
migration and consolidation projects.
