Teleran uses an
efficient, small footprint Java server process that
sits on the TCP/IP network logically between SQL-generating applications and backend databases. It transparently captures query,
application report and data usage information at the native
database protocol packet level. Operating at the network packet level enables Teleran's processes to be extremely
efficient, applying no material system overhead or application
latency. This approach also enables Access Architecture to be
highly scalable to support 1000's of users accessing
multi-terabyte size database applications across multiple database
instances.
Teleran's
Access Architecture can reside on the same physical hardware as the database or on a mid-tier
application or web server.

Access Architecture does not tie-up IT staff with the

monitors or traces on each database instance as is common with

database system monitors, one Access Server can profile and manage
access to many database instances on one or more physical servers.
This not only saves on administrative overhead, but also provides
a more cost-effective solution than other systems that require
agents on every database instance or on each subnet.
